The artist has given the entirety of his £25k award prize money to the MVT, which functions to protect the UK's grassroots live music spots.
The star was presented with the award on October 16 as his third album his work was named the best record of the previous year.
The musician has opted to hand the money over to the trust, in acknowledgment of the essential function small stages had in his initial steps.
"As an artist wouldn't be doing my current career if it weren't for all the gigs I played around the area, and beyond, when I was just getting going," stated Sam Fender. "These venues are iconic, but they are struggling."
Since the start of 2023, more than 150 of these spaces have ceased operations – approximately one-sixth of the whole industry in the UK.
Over the past year, well-known musicians including Pulp, the group Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the trust in its efforts to help venues survive, by adding a small levy to their ticket costs, which supports smaller concert halls.
Fender also took part, collecting in excess of £100,000 on his live tour to support 38 small stages across Britain.
These funds assisted spaces that were dealing with possible closure due to difficulties stemming from water damage, fires and bereavements, as well as regulatory hurdles, court cases and neighbor objections.
Other venues were granted financial assistance in upgrading facilities and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted musicians and concertgoers.
"The idea that funds from performances in major spaces backs the local stages, where it all starts for artists like me, is just common sense," Sam Fender has said.
The musician is far from the only musician to contribute his award prize money to worthy causes.
Back when the band earned the trophy in 1996 for their release the album, frontman Cocker stated that the band would donate their prize money to the organization War Child.
In 2002, rapper and singer the artist split her prize between several charities, such as the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.
"I also gave a grand to Highgate Newtown, to their gymnastics program, because I practiced gymnastics when I was growing up and they needed new equipment," she explained to the media.
Two years ago, the band gave their prize money to the youth organization that developed their group, as well as other independent music bodies.
Also winners that year M People gave their award to a charity for MS after a close contact was diagnosed the disease.
"Receiving the award was quite enough," remarked singer the singer. "The prize was the bonus but we didn't require the bonus, because we had the main prize. So our success affected another person's life."
Recently, the MVT revealed it had rescued several small stages in the South East, by placing them under local control.
One venue in the city and the second in the city were bought under the public acquisition program, which is funded by the arts council and music fans who acquire "ownership units" in the properties.
